New Blog

So as to not get in the way of my Supers chat and Pulp City - I've started a new Blog to cover my journey into Weird War 2 Gaming.

Its dedicated to Weird War 2 in general, in particular Darkson Designs AE-WWII Miniature Game - with a smattering of Comics, RPG's, and Movies.

Of course there will be crossovers between my Pulp City and Weird War stuff- so you'll just have to read both blogs ;)

I keep looking into weird war, but don't know which would be best, sotr or aeww2? From what I gather ae appears more skirmishy?

Without mincing words, Westwinds figures are pretty S**T. I Foolishly got some of the West Wind "Road Kill" Cops as Minions for Pulp City - the are badly (and miscast in places) cast, the metal is ridiculously soft, and the sculpts are generally unattractive. I know the quality will be there with Darkson Designs and there is (of course) the cross-over factor with our beloved Pulp City.

I do hear a lot of comments for and against westwind stuff, ranging from amazing to s*!t. I do really like the Incursion figs. they have, the ape suits etc....You are right though the ability to play with supers will probably sway it for ae! Darkson is on the pulp forum, maybe we could get a deal with him? Do you know how the rules play yet?

The "Quick Start" Rules seem very straightforward - random determination of first player with alternating activation. Shooting is a standard D6 roll with modifiers for range and cover, likewise HtH seems simple - with opposed D6+Skill rolls, the highest being the one whos strikes the hit. Movement again standard - with rules for difficult terrain etc. What intrigues me the most is the "no points cost" way of working out your forces!
